Let’s Go Southall

‘Let’s Go Southall’ is a Southall project that aims to help inactive residents become more healthy and active. This pilot project is funded by Sport England and is one of 12 such pilots around the UK.

The funding initially opportunity arose in mid-2017 and Ealing Council made a decision to target its application to Southall, an area of great diversity combined with high levels of ill-health.

The stage one application was prepared by Ealing Council, Ealing CCG and with input from Southall Community Alliance and a consultancy firm called Uscreates. Although hundreds of applications were received, the Southall bid was successfully shortlisted to the last 19 areas. This sparked a hectic period of work for all partners, who had to develop a second stage application and prepare for a visit from the funders.

During this period workshops and events were arranged to assess partners interest and future involvement and to start building a model of whole systems change.
